Have you ever tried to upload a file from your phone to Google Drive and it never seems to begin uploading? Your phone may have a setting enabled by default to only allow uploads while using WIFI.
In this blog post, I will show you how to disable that setting so that you can upload your files with your cellular connection on either a Google Android or Apple iOS device.
Enable mobile Data usage on Android device for Google Drive
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- In the list of applications, find the Google Drive app
- Enable Mobile Data toggle.

- on your Android device, open the Google Drive app.
- Press the three bars (hamburger menu)
- Press Settings
- Scroll down and look for Data Usage
- Disable the setting: “Transfer files only over Wi-Fi.”
