I created this blog so that I can have a single place to log all of my how-to style directions. As it stands, I have these directions scattered in various places, for example Google Drive, Trello, local PC, on flash drives and written In a notebook. Since some of those locations may randomly disappear or start charging fees, I decided that it is best to wean myself off of them and store my information into something I own. It is also in my best interest to store all information in a single place that is easily accessible.
I am working to incorporate all of the following into my blog:
- Https
- Focused on technical topics
- Requires minimal prerequisite knowledge
- All-inclusive steps
- Up front about any prerequisites
- How to complete most tasks the fastest way, with the command line
This is what I accomplished so far:
- Lightweight install with minimal bloat.
- All commmand line steps needed, after manually installing the latest version of Ununtu.
- Full LAMP stack:
- Ubuntu Linux with the latest updates and upgrades.
- Apache web server with tools.
- MySQL with MariaDB.
- PHP.
- No default/standard passwords.
- HTTPS enabled with SSL Certificate.
- Website Analytics with Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
- Monetization (work in progress)
- Affiliate link, I have one but need more.
- ADs with Google AD Sense, work in progress.
- I made an account but awaiting approval from Google.
- Determine how to edit HTML files within WordPress so that I can include advertising code.
- Store to sell pre-built systems, not started yet.
- SEO
- Determine top three keywords and include in page, in progress.
- Need to make a list of different on-site and on-page SEO techniques, in progress.
I’ve read many blog posts where the writer is all over the place and the blog post does not have any structure. The writer may start of saying, you I will learn X, but then proceed to talk about their opinions, the history of something and in the middle of their “turorial” you are required to have a good working knowledge of some highly technical system. I am working to differ from those blogs by:
- Being straightforward by explaining the following in the beginning:
- What I am covering
- What I am not covering
- Prerequisites that you would either need to do or have first so that you can save time.
- Not expecting the reader to understand a highly technical system after deep diving into my post.
I’d you enjoyed this post, pleae leave a comment telling me what you liked about it specifically.
Thank You!
